Members of the language grouping explore linguistic, social, cultural and policy dimensions of languages in the Asia Pacific regions. Since language is central to expressions of identity (both individual and societal) our research embraces social change and popular culture. Our research concerns:
- language change and language use
- language learning pedagogy
- language policy
- dialectology
- diaspora languages
- creoles and pidgins
- varieties of English spoken in the regions of Asia and the Pacific
- popular culture, identity and social change.
