These degrees are available at both the University of Wollongong and the University of Newcastle. Prospective students should first choose which degree they are interested in and then select a campus. Why Do A Degree in Social Change and Development?Unlike traditional development studies courses, these degrees focus on a critical sociology/critical political economy of social change in the Asia-Pacific. Students specialize in the comparative analysis of social transformation in the region. They study in small groups with specialist researchers who are experts in their fields. Considerable attention is given to research and policy analysis as well as problem-solving skills. The courses combine theoretical perspectives with empirical studies. Why Do A Degree in International Relations?The degree is intended to provide opportunities for graduates of diverse disciplinary backgrounds to develop their academic understanding and professional skills in the field of international relations. The program is multi-disciplinary in nature, focusing on international politics, economics, management, and law and diplomatic practice, in particular, but allowing both for specialisation within the program as well as for the inclusion of area studies, and other relevant subjects, in accordance with students' needs.
