The thesis project has the objective to examine the inflows of Thai illegal migrant workers in southern Thailand to Malaysia. The key areas of investigation are: the reason for leaving; the migration process; the living condition experienced as well as the consequence of labour migration in this process on both Thailand and Malaysia. My research looks at Thai illegal workers in the various jobs sectors as minor workers in Malaysia. This study draws a variety perspective, in particular gender relation and involves fieldwork in Malaysia as well as in Thailand.
