A LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF SOCIAL ATTITUDES TOWARDS THE QUALITY OF POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION IN VIETNAM

Tran Thi Hong Van

Research program: Globalization and Education

Postgraduate education in Vietnam is presently notorious for low-quality theses and unscholarly research. By using appraisal theory, the project is expected to shed light on those perceived to be responsible for the unsatisfactory quality and how people blame each other for the problem. In order to attain this, the researcher will interview different stakeholders in the education sector, namely teachers, postgraduate students and managerial bureaucrats to see their attitudes toward the quality of higher degree study in Vietnam.
