Climate Change Research And Policy In The Pacific Region

Jasmin Sydee

Research program: Globalisation and International Development

My research maps the development of a climate change research and policy domain in the Pacific region. It also examines:

i) how experts and decision makers, especially those from regional intergovernmental organisations, are making sense of the tensions between global prescriptions and assumptions and local political and cultural realities; and

ii) what relevant epistemic, social and political issues are excluded from consideration in the domain, and some of the implications this may have for the region.
